Hello, I'm Rachel!

I have been a therapist for 25+ years. I did my training at Nottingham University and was very fortunate to achieve a Master of Arts in Counselling Studies.

I discovered in my day to day relationships with other people that I was able to share a lot of empathy in their situations and circumstances. This led me to decide to look into a profession that would enable me to use this skill.

I love my job and have been very lucky that my feelings towards it have never changed. I am very committed to the process of enabling people to change and see things differently, as well as providing a safe and open space for them. As a therapist, I am also committed and aware of my own development, both professionally and personally. I believe the more I understand about myself, the greater insight have into other peoples struggles and challenges. A wise person once said, "you can only ever take a client as far as you are prepared to go yourself".

When anyone contacts me, I never underestimate the possible anxiety and bravery that it has taken to make that step. My biggest priority is to make the therapeutic process as comfortable as it ever can be when talking about thoughts, feelings and experiences.

I am always mindful that part of connecting in a therapeutic relationship, all emotions are welcomed to be expressed, such as: anger, sadness, stress, laughter and joy. As journeys are started and connections are made.
